MD/MBA Four Year Program
WHY A DUAL DEGREE
Have you ever thought of yourself as someone who wants to be a new breed of MD?
Do you think that medicine has been on the sidelines of technology, entrepreneurship and solid management skills for too long?
Do you think you can change this process and put medicine where it belongs, in the 21st century?
Then we want to talk to you at the Tufts/Brandeis MD/MBA program.
Why? Because we can give you a solid medical education at a premier medical school in Boston and prepare you to be a first rate clinician with exceptional skills in management, organization and a keen eye for potential entrepreneurial opportunities that may come your way.
How can we do that? The answer is simple; we are one of the oldest and most established MD/MBA programs in the nation, not just in Boston.
In fact when we started our MD/MBA program here at Tufts in 1994, there were only eight such programs in the country and none in Boston. Now there are fifty four programs nationwide.
To date, 130 students have graduated our program with the combined degree and are pursuing a spectrum of clinical and leadership interests.
And that's not all. We do all this in four years, yes, just four years, not five like most other programs. That means when you are done, you are really done.
ADMISSIONS
Admission criteria are simple; your application must first be accepted by the Medical School at Tufts. Once over that hurdle, your application will be reviewed by the MBA committee at the Heller School at Brandeis University.
Interested? You can apply via the online Tufts (http://www.tufts.edu/med/admissions/md/index.html) secondary application at any time during the application cycle. But space is limited in the program so applying early is recommended.
And because you need to be accepted by the Medical School first, you do not need the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) to be admitted to the MD/MBA program. But you will need to take the GMAT during the first summer in order to fully matriculate at Brandeis University with an MBA.
To find out more about the GMAT, you can go to http://www.mba.com/mba/TaketheGMAT. Your test scores will be sent directly to the Heller School by GMAC, Graduate Admissions Council. The GMAT code for The Heller School at Brandeis University is 3FD-ZX-31.
We look forward to meeting you.
