ISEE/ISEA
Conference
2 -6 September 2006,
la Villette Conference Centre, Paris
Our three research papers have been selected for the International
Conference on Environmental Epidemiology & Exposure in
Paris. The joint ISEE/ISEA Conference is a unique opportunity
for the scientific community concerned with the future of
our environment - our village, our planet - and with public
health - for current and future generations - to question
how the precautionary principle may change the way scientists
work. Ken Chui, PhD student at Tufts University School of
Medicine will do the poster presentation of "Composition
of exposure index using historical storm track data for analysis
of extreme weather events and gastroenteritis infections among
elderly in the U.S." Dr.Elena Naumova will do the oral
and poster presentations of "Climate and Water Type as
Indicators for Gastroenteric Infections in the US Elderly"
and "Spatio-temporal patterns for pneumonia and influenza
hospitalization in the frail subpopulations of USA elderly"
respectively.
Jyotsna Jagai, PhD student in the Friedman School of Nutrition
Science and Policy has been selected for a Special Commendation
by the Rebecca James Baker Memorial Prize Committee for her
work on cryptosporidiosis seasonality in Africa that she presented
in South Africa in 2005.
