Dr. Jacques Kibambe Ngoie

Department of Economics, University of Pretoria

Jacques Kibambe Ngoie is a Faculty at the School of Economics, University of Pretoria and a member (Supervisor of the African Desk) of the African Institute of Economic Modelling. His set of research interests range from ‘National Accounts (Index Numbers)’ to ‘Macroeconometric Forecasting’. To this regard, Jacques has been actively involved in building and peer-reviewing several countries’ macroeconomic models. His recent work comprises a disaggregated model completed at the University of Chicago where Jacques was invited as Research Fellow. Throughout several conference presentations, Jacques has built networking relationships with international scholars in the field of Macroeconomic Forecasting. However, from a more recent research visit conducted at DIMACS (Rutgers University), Jacques has embarked in the modelling and the understanding of productivity trade-offs that relate to infectious diseases. This has whetted appetites for Jacques to help investigating more research common grounds that exist between epidemiology and health economics.
