Trevor B. Emory (trevor.emory@tufts.edu)
MD/MBA 2007

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, just outside of Philadelphia, Trevor is the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. There he was a member of the varsity cross country, winter track and field, and spring track and field teams. He carried his passion of running over to marathons and competed in several marathons including the Philadelphia Marathon, the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon (in Anchorage, Alaska), and the Boston Marathon.

Trevor has lived in Medford, Massachusetts for the past three years. Between college and Tufts University School of Medicine he worked for Ophthalmic Research Associates, Inc. as a clinical research associate and clinical study manager.

Jonathan Amer Zelken (jonathan.zelken@tufts.edu)
MD 2007

Born in New London, CT, just outside of some other little-known city (Old Saybrook), Jonathan has a twin brother who lives in Boston, a mom, and a dad. His family had three pets until one of his cats was absolutely devoured by a coyote. The remaining dog is now the king of the house and the remaining cat suffers major psychological cat-issues. Jon attended Cornell where he rowed lightweight crew, skiied, and did little- if anything- else. He is not bitter or anything, no, lots of people do not get into medical school the first time around. He rowed very competitively, perhaps overly so, until he suffered a Pipkin fracture of his left hip. He has recovered beautifully and was spotted recently rowing in the Head of the Charles, cycling the streets of Beantown, rampaging on the courts of the Y, and enjoying long walks on the beach.

Between college and Tufts School of Medicine, Jonathan spent the year in Manhattan immersing himself in orthopedic research at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He wants to be an orthopedic surgeon, he thinks. But doesn't every self respecting first-year male? Jonathan recently left the MD/MBA program citing artistic differences. He likes Boston and welcomes any criticism.

Will Grandin (edward.grandin@tufts.edu)
MD/MPH 2007

Will Grandin, or, more formally, Edward Wilson Grandin, was born at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston. Will's parents took the liberty of naming him Edward Wilson but decided to call him by his middle name, thereby forcing him to explain why he doesn't go by "Eddy" and prompting hours of deliberation about how to fill out the name section of standardized forms. After living the first year of his life in Jamaica Plain, the family moved to bucolic Dover, MA where Will spent the rest of his childhood. A year later Will's little sister, Mercedes, was born and the two would spend many subsequent years harassing each other.

After graduationg from Dover-Sherborn Regional High School, Will attended Trinity College in Hartford, CT where he majored in Biology and rowed crew (briefly!). Before coming to Tufts, Will worked as a Clincial Research Coordinator in the Adult Leukemia Program at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
