Microarray analysis of the AdnA regulon in P. fluorescens:

Work done by Robleto, et. al. 2003, identified seven genes that were regulated by AdnA using a promoterless Tn5-lacZ transposon.  Further analysis of the AdnA regulon has been done by comparing the expression patterns of genes from P. fluorescens Pf0-1 (adnA+) and P. fluorescens Pf0-2x (adnA-) grown in Pseudomonas Minimal Medium (PMM).  The samples were compared using microarray analysis.  The results from this comparison showed that 103 orfs were found to be affected by the absence of AdnA.  A majority of those orfs, 92, were found to be down-regulated in the absence of AdnA, while the remaining 11 orfs were found to be up-regulated.  Four of the orfs detected using this microarray analysis have been found previously in our laboratory: Pfl_0657, Pfl_1504 (flgI), Pfl_1514, and Pfl_4250 (flgC) (Robleto et al., 2003).  Of those 92 orfs, 48 are predicted orthologs of gene products known to be involved in either flagellar synthesis/export or chemotaxis in several Pseudomonas sp.. A majority of these 48 AdnA controlled orfs found in Pf0-1 were similar to those found by Dasgupta et al., 2003.
