Inauguration 2011

Dear Colleague,
This week is a historic one for Tufts as we celebrate the inauguration of our 13th president, noted geneticist Anthony P. Monaco. A week of celebratory activities will help us welcome President Monaco into our community. I want to be sure you are aware of all of the events taking place this week - the full list of which can be found at http://president.tufts.edu/inauguration2011/inauguration-events/ and in particular of the events taking place on our Boston campus on Wednesday.

I look forward to seeing you at Wednesday's Academic Symposium, "Advances in Child Development," beginning at 1:00 p.m. in DeBlois Auditorium at the Sackler Center. Tufts University School of Medicine's own Diana Bianchi will present on "Treatment of Developmental Disorders Using a Prenatal Gene Expression Approach." The symposium also will present a wonderful opportunity to hear President Monaco speak on his own world-class research on the genetics of neurodevelopmental disorders.

I hope you will also join us at a celebratory inaugural reception in the Sackler Center Lobby immediately following the symposium. All faculty are invited to join us for this festive occasion with President Monaco, which will begin at approximately 5:00pm.

Thank you for joining me in welcoming President Monaco as a member of the Tufts community.
