White Coat Ceremony
The White Coat Ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College, 219 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts. A reception immediately following the Ceremony will be held at Tufts University School of Medicine, Sackler Building, 8th floor, 145 Harrison Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts.
Tufts University School of Medicine held its first White Coat Ceremony in the fall of 1997. It is now considered a rite of passage for each entering class. This year is no exception as the 175 medical students in the Class of 2011 will gather at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College, 219 Tremont Street, Boston, Massachusetts to receive their white coats and stand together to recite the modern Hippocratic Oath.
The White Coat Ceremony will begin at 2:00p.m. at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College, 219 Tremont, Boston, Massachusetts. The ceremony includes the Class of 2011 marching into the Theatre, our guest Keynote Speaker is Dr. Michael F. Collins, and each member of the class receiving his or her white coat. The ceremony typically lasts for 90 minutes. Immediately following the ceremony is a Dessert Reception at the Tufts University School of Medicine, Sackler Building, 145 Harrison Avenue, Boston.
