Research Studies:
SWITCH

The SWITCH Study is an antiretroviral drug switch intervention for fat atrophy.

 

Purpose:

This research study seeks to determine if replacing Zerit in an effective antiretroviral regimen with Viread (Tenofovir) as prescribed by your physician, will have a beneficial impact on fat atrophy (loss of fat) and maintain viral suppression.

Eligibility
Criteria:

  • HIV +

  • On d4T for at least 6 months

  • Have facial fat atrophy

  • Over 18 years

Study
Requirements:

Study visits will be monthly for the first three months, then every three months for the remainder of this research study. There will be a total of seven study visits.

Benefits:

Receive detailed information about your body composition through DXA and CT scans.
