Maintaining and protecting the public's health requires an interdisciplinary understanding of many disciplines and approaches, which is reflected in the public health division's research and teaching. The division shares a focus on applying their skills and knowledge to public health problems and a willingness to involve students in that work as well. The Public Health Division has diversified pool of experienced faculty, drawn from throughout the university and beyond who are dedicated teachers who also are work full time in the public health field. In addition, the division oversees the 1st year medical school epidemiology and biostatistics course and the academic administration of the Public Health and Professional Degree Programs.
