Enku Kebede-Francis, Assistant Professor, holds a PhD in Biotechnological Sciences in Agronomy with emphasis on preventive health, agriculture and economics. She also holds MS in Environment and Development and MEd in education.
At Tufts University Medical School/Department of Public Health, she teaches courses in global health and is responsible for International Applied Learning Experiences program. Prior to joining Tufts, Dr. Kebede-Francis worked for the United Nations, the Medical School at the Australian National University and on preventive health programs in Central and Eastern European countries. She served UNESCO as its Goodwill Representative in Croatia.
Her personal research is on prevention of blindness and scurvy in developing countries using nutrients. She is also working on a research project on the impact of climate change on health.
