Amy Lischko joined Tufts University as an Assistant Clinical Professor in July 2007. Amy had previously taught at Tufts as an adjunct faculty member for many years. She has over fifteen years of experience working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in senior-level management positions. Until recently, Amy led a 100-person agency within the Office of Health and Human Services and was concurrently the chief health policy advisor to the secretary.
She conducts a range of studies on the uninsured and underinsured focusing on private market reforms, access, affordability, cost-shifting, and financing strategies including health reimbursement and health savings accounts. Amy has extensive experience in health services research, policy analysis, and program evaluation.
Amy has managed numerous health research and policy projects for the Commonwealth including large, federally-funded, multi-agency grants. She was the principle investigator on the state’s HRSA, RWJ, and Commonwealth Fund grants to evaluate options for expanding health insurance coverage. She was a key author of the adminstration’s health care reform proposal and was responsible for the Commonwealth’s healthcare transparency agenda.
Amy holds BS and MSPH degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is currently finishing up her doctoral degree at Boston University in health services research.
