MD Program

MD: Tufts' MD curriculum combines the fundamental study of science with intensive clinical training.

Dual MD Degrees: We offer a unique cadre of combined-degree programs by which students can attain an MD/PhD; MD/MPH; MD/MBA in Health Management; MD/MA with the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, or a BS/MS/MD in Bioengineering through collaboration with Tufts College of Engineering.

Public Health Policy & Professional Degree Program

Tufts Graduate Programs in Public Health (GPPH) tap the full resources of the university community as well those of the city of Boston, offering students programs of depth and interdisciplinary innovation. The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree can be attained by itself or in combination with the MD, DVM, MS in Nutrition, BA or BS degrees offered by Tufts. It is also offered with the JD from Northeastern University, a national leader in public interest law. Our MS in Health Communication program takes advantage of our close working relationship with Emerson College, nationally known for its communication studies.

Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences

The Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences offers interdisciplinary programs that allow students to change their program affiliation, laboratory rotations that give students experience in several laboratories, and emphasis on communication skills through writing courses, journal clubs, and regular student presentations. Students can pursue a variety of programs, including Ph.D. degrees in eight basic biomedical research areas.

Sackler students can also enroll in the Clinical Research Program, built on the foundation of a well-established fellowship program in the Clinical Care Division of the Tufts Medical Center. It is open primarily to experienced physicians, remains administratively rooted in the Tufts Medical Center, and offers a master's degree program as well as a doctoral track.

MSTP Program

The Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, in conjunction with the Tufts Medical School, offers the opportunity for qualified individuals to pursue a combined M.D./Ph.D. degree through a Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) funded by the National Institutes of Health. The program is designed for students who want to pursue careers that include both research and clinical practice. Students receive rigorous scientific training in addition to full academic and clinical training in the practice of medicine. Non-Degree Research Programs

Summer Research Program in Biomedical Sciences for Undergraduate Students: The Sackler School offers 10 week summer internships for undergraduate students interested in pursuing research careers in the biomedical sciences beginning the first week of June.

Post-Baccalaureate Research Internship Program: The Sackler School offers 1 to 2 year research apprenticeships for recent graduates who are interested in pursuing research careers in the biomedical sciences. This non-degree program is ideal for applicants interested in gaining research experience and/or improving skills important for graduate degree programs in the biomedical sciences.
