Student Research Opportunities
There are numerous opportunities for both short-term and long-term experiences in basic, clinical and public health research in a variety of laboratories, clinics, and departments at Tufts University School of Medicine and its primary teaching hospital, Tufts Medical Center. In addition, there are a variety of programs at institutions across the United States that provide medical students the valuable opportunity to participate in research.
Tufts Medicine Funding
The following funds are offered by Tufts for Tufts medical students. All summer fellowships require a minimum involvement in research of eight weeks. Applications are due in the Spring Semester. Please check the individual descriptions for dates and details.
External Funding
The Medical School is committed to providing financial support for medical students who wish to participate in a research project at Tufts or Tufts Medical Center during a summer or as an elective. In addition, there are a variety of organizations that provide funding for medical students who wish to do research. These funds can provide supplemental funding.
General Research Information
All TUSM students are strongly encouraged to obtain research experience in any area that interests them.
