Jim Vlahakis is a PhD. candidate in mechanical engineering whose research
focuses on chemical-mechanical planarization. For the BEND program, he
serves as a sounding board for the undergraduate engineer's technical
questions and helps them navigate the administrative issues that inevitably
arise. Jim is very excited about the summer projects and believes that
several devices biomedical researchers find useful could result.
Jim earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts in 1988 and his master's from
Harvard in 2003. He plans to obtain his doctorate degree from Tufts by 2007.
Jim enjoys basketball, crosswords, and motorcycles. |
