The primary research focus of my laboratory is to understand how peptide growth factors are able to regulate cell growth and differentiation. Research in my laboratory is principally on the molecular biology of transcription and signal transduction proteins. The ubiquitous growth factor and cytokine regulated Jak-Stat signal transduction pathway was discovered in my laboratory and continues to be a major focus of our research. Current projects focus on the regulation of STAT transcription factors by growth factors and Rac1 and the regulation of the c-fos promoter by the serum Rho A pathway and by the cell cycle.
