Our research focuses on cartilage development in vertebrate embryos. We study
the molecular mechanisms that are involved in cell fate determination during
cartilage formation and patterning. As signaling events that occur in embryogenesis
may be used again in adult, our work will lead to a better understanding of cartilage-related
birth defects as well as arthritis and cartilage repair.
