Our research group studies molecular mechanisms that are important in B cell maturation and function; many of these studies involve the production and analysis of genetically engineered mice. Currently, work in the lab is predominately focused on DNA recombination and repair processes that are induced in activated B cells and that are involved in somatic hypermutation and isotype switching. Ten students have completed Ph.D. studies in my laboratory. Representative trainees and their current positions are listed below.

♦ Dr. Rachel Gerstein (Graduate Student), Assistant Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA

♦ Dr. Mark Moore (Graduate Student), Chief Scientific Officer, Deltagen, Redwood City, CA

♦ Dr. Jeongwon Sohn (Graduate Student), Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, Korea University Medical School, Seoul, Korea

♦ Dr. Thomas Luby (Graduate Student), Scientist, Zycos, Incorporated, Lexington, MA

♦ Dr. Bo Xu (Graduate Student), Assistant Professor of Pathology, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA
