Schistosomiasis afflicts many people worldwide. My project examines the genetic differences between mouse strains developing severe or mild forms of schistosomiasis through the use of congenic mice and quantitative trait loci analyses to dissect the underlying mechanisms responsible for the striking differences in immunopathology.
