The origin of replication of chromosome II
of Vibrio cholerae (OricII) differs from that
of chromosome I and from Oric of Escherichia coli.
Replication at OricII requires two genes that flank OricII, rctB and rctA.
rctB encodes an origin binding protein that is conserved
across Vibrionaceae and rctA is an untranslated
RNA. I am working to understand the function of these two genes
and their role in chromosome II replication. |
