I am working with Dr. Leav, studying innate immune responses to Cryptosporidium parvum infection using a murine model of infection. In particular, we are interested in the role of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (iIEL) in the early immune response to this protozoan parasite. We are currently trying to determine if iIELs can enhance resistance to infection in susceptilbe strains of mice. |
