Thesis Topic
Gene regulation by CodY in Staphylococcus aureus

Current Research
In many low G+C gram-positive bacteria, the transcription factor CodY is a global regulator of stationary phase adaptations in response to nutrient limitation.  We are focused on understanding the role of CodY in Staphylococcus aureus, specifically how this global regulator facilitates metabolic adaptations and virulence gene induction in S. aureus.
