Electrophysiology & Biophysics Core
 |
|
| A recording electrode inserted into a
neuron (injected with green dye) measures electrical activity
via an amplifier |
|
This core is intended to serve a broad range
of investigators and to supply not only equipment but also expert
technical capability for performing experiments. As the goal of this
core facility is to respond flexibly to the needs of each investigator,
we provide a variety of recording methods, as indicated below. Aims
- Carry out preliminary experiments designed to assess the
utility of applying electrophysiological methods to particular
projects
- Provide consultation to PIs establishing electrophysiological
approaches in their own laboratories
- Provide basic electrophysiology training to laboratory
personnel
|
Services
- Whole cell current and voltage clamp
- Single channel recording
- Two electrode voltage clamp
- Tissue slice single cell current and voltage clamp
- Extracellular field recording
- Biophysics and Electrophysiology consultation
