Research Interests:

Plasticity in sensory processing. Two major sensory systems are studied in our laboratory: (1) somatosensory, with emphasis on pain processing, and (2) olfactory, with emphasis on olfactory receptor function and expression.

Technical approaches: Molecular biology: RT/PCR, cloning, sequencing, northern/southern blot hybridization, library screening, in vivo transfection and expression, quantitation of mRNA expression. Anatomical: Fluorescence immunohistochemistry, TUNL assay, in situ hybridization, receptor autoradiography.
