Research Interests:

Peter Ofner, Ph.D. is interested in the study of hormonal carcinogenesis of the prostate linked to aging, with special emphasis on toxicant- and aging-induced oxidative stress in the target organ. A second research interest is to explore and document the many underresearched effects of dehydroepiandosterone (DHEA) and androstenedione, which can be purchased without prescription. In the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, he teaches toxicology and assists with organizing the graduate student Journal Club. He is also a facilitator of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for first year medical students.
