The Sackler School
offers 10 week summer internships for undergraduate students
interested in pursuing research careers in the biomedical
sciences, beginning the first week of June. Stipends are available
to cover travel and living expenses, and housing is available
in the university dormitory.
During the course of the program, students conduct research
under the supervision of a faculty mentor. They present
the results of their projects at a poster presentation at
the end of the summer. Every two weeks the students meet
in small groups with a faculty facilitator to discuss each
other's research. This provides each student with useful
feedback on his or her project as well as the opportunity
to learn about what is going on in other laboratories. The
program also features several field trips and counseling
on applying to graduate and medical schools.
