Tufts and Boston Tufts University has three campuses in Massachusetts and a fourth campus in Talloires, France. The Medford campus consists of the Tufts College of Liberal Arts and Jackson College, the College of Engineering, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the Boston School of Occupational Therapy, and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. On the Boston campus are the Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine, the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, and the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine is located on the Grafton campus. The home of the TEACRS program is the downtown Boston Health Sciences Campus of Tufts University. This campus is located in the heart of Boston's Chinatown district. TEACRS trainees may conduct their research on any of the campuses of Tufts University. The residential sections of Beacon Hill and the Back Bay are within walking distance, and other housing in South Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Malden, Brookline, Allston, and Brighton is less than 30 minutes away by subway or bus. Housing and living costs vary widely. Metropolitan Boston's cultural opportunities are well known - theater, symphony, museums, historic sites, big-league sports. Several other educational institutions are nearby, including Brandeis University, MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Boston University, Northeastern University, and Wellesley College. The Boston area features a concentration of academic excellence, which fosters exchange and collaboration between individuals within the various institutions. The scientific community enjoys frequent seminars, and cross-attendance is common. The New England beaches and the mountains of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are within easy reach.
