MacJannet Prize 2012 Call for Nominations

The Talloires Network is pleased to call for nominations for the 2012 MacJannet Prize. Sponsored by the Talloires Network and the MacJannet Foundation, the MacJannet Prize Prize recognizes exceptional student community engagement initiatives at Talloires Network member universities around the world and contributes financially to their ongoing public service efforts. In 2012, three programs will receive awards: 1st Prize ($7,500), 2nd Prize ($5,000), and 3rd Prize ($2,500). Nominations are due on 15 February 2012. Learn more or nominate a program>>


Introducing Dr. Lorlene Hoyt, new Talloires Network Director of Programs and Research

 Dr. Lorlene Hoyt is joining the Talloires Network as Director of Programs and Research.  In this role she will direct the Network’s administrative functions and program activities, handling responsibilities previously performed by the TN Coordinator and also leading the design and implementation of selected new initiatives. She will coordinate implementation of our work plan, oversee communications activities and outreach to current and prospective members, and support the Steering Committee and TN working groups. Innovative Education Access Programs for Out-of-School Youth and Adults

Project AHEAD is a viable and cost-effective mode of access to education. Out-of-school youth beneficiaries study at their own time and pace, and their regular physical presence is not required in school. AHEAD Program increases the accessibility and equity of basic education by lowering the delivery cost of education. Besides opening the doors of education to wider and more diverse social classes, project AHEAD provides greater access to education for those who are constrained from going back to school due to poverty, chronic illness, or age.
