Next Talloires Student Discussion: Wednesday, December 9!

TN 24 logo newThis month we will be addressing the topic of "Program Evaluation." Program evaluation is a challenging but incredibly important aspect of community engagement work. Systematic evaluation helps you to learn what works and what doesn’t work, and to adjust your project accordingly. Evaluating outcomes also gives you data that you can present to potential funders, potential student volunteers, and potential community partners to gain their support. Program evaluations can focus on several different facets of program outcomes, including:

  • Impact on the community being served
  • Strength of partnership between university and community
  • Student learning outcomes

For this discussion, we invite you to share your experiences evaluating your programs. Are there particular tools or approaches that you have found useful? What are challenges you have encountered in program evaluation? Also, if you have a project that you want to evaluate but don’t know where to start, use this forum discussion as an opportunity to get some advice! Visit our forum on December 9 to join the discussion! Contact John Pollock with any questions.
