Research & Statistical Computing
Amber.tufts.edu
is a University-wide high performance computational resource. The
server's resources enable faculty and graduate students to scale
research problems in order to address more realistic modeling assumptions.
A wide array of research is performed using the supercomputer, ranging
from genetic sequence analysis to cosmic string simulations. Amber
is equipped with four Alpha processors running (DIG) unix and assorted
software, 1.5 gigabytes of RAM, 8 Ultrawide SCSI busses, and is
connected to the Tufts campus network with regular 100BaseTX Fast
Ethernet.
