In response to the interest expressed by the user community for separate email and browser products, UIT offers a customized version of Thunderbird and Firefox. Both products are open source and have been successfully used by Tufts in the past.
Thunderbird and Firefox include robust security features, significant customizations, and excellent compatibility with other Internet products. The current versions of the Thunderbird Client for Trumpeter and Firefox web browser (tested and configured by the University IT Support Center) are available below.
The UIT Training and Documentation team have created supporting materials to help you get the most out of the special features provided by these applications. Use the links listed below, under Thunderbird and Firefox Documentation, to view or download the Thunderbird and Firefox manuals and tipsheets.
