Travel to conduct the research is permitted in the budget, but separate requests for travel to meetings and conferences should be sought through the TIE travel grant mechanism.

TIE is not offering undergraduate fellowships this year.

TIE is once again offering discounted registration to Tufts students interested in attending the NESEA BuildingEnergy08 conference in Boston on March 12-13.

For a $10 co-payment (which supports the GetClean! wind power program), TIE will register and pay for 10 students to attend the conference on EITHER Wednesday OR Thursday. TIE is not sponsoring students to attend the Tuesday pre-conference workshops.

To sign up, please stop by the TIE office during regular business hours (9am-5pm) with your $10 co-pay (cash or check). Be prepared to tell us whether you would like to attend the conference on Wednesday or Thursday.

TIE discounts will be awarded to the first 10 students to sign up. The cut-off date for sign-up is Friday, Feb 29th. If you have any questions, please call 617-627-3645.

Tufts Institute of the Environment (TIE) is an interdisciplinary, university-wide education and research institute which facilitates and coordinates environmental programs at the University. TIE is devoted to advancing and disseminating knowledge about the many ways human interactions affect the environment. TIE focuses on environmental research, technology, policy development and education, recognizing the interdependence of human welfare, animal health, and ecological integrity.

In an effort to encourage cross-program synergy at Tufts and beyond, TIE has co-developed an online communication and collaboration tool called EcoLinkUp. It provides Tufts' faculty, staff, students, alumni and external partners with a way to participate in university-wide environmental interdisciplinary research, education, citizenship, and outreach programs. Check it out! Meet! Discuss! Collaborate!

Tufts University is deeply concerned about the unprecedented scale and speed of environmental pollution and degradation, and the depletion of natural resources and is a signatory to The Talloires Declaration.
