The Chelsea Creek is a unique urban natural resource in the Mystic River Watershed that connects the City of Chelsea and community of East Boston. The Chelsea Creek is approximately 2.6 miles long and supports commercial, industrial, and residential life. Residents have been working for years with local nonprofit groups including the Chelsea Human Services Collaborative, Chelsea Greenspace & Recreation Committee, Chelsea Creek Action Group, and Neighborhood of Affordable Housing to help restore the quality of the environment in and around the Chelsea Creek and create safe public access for residents to enjoy.

This website is intended to provide user-friendly access to information of interest to local residents, youth, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders interested in learning more about the Chelsea Creek. This site was created by students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in partnership with the Chelsea Creek Action Group, Neighborhood of Affordable Housing (NOAH), Chelsea Human Services Collaborative, Chelsea Greenspace and Recreation Committee, and the US Environmental Protection Agency's Urban Environmental Initiative (UEI). The information that is contained in this website is a collection of available and original data collected from a wide array of sources as part of a two year project titled "Chelsea Creek Community-Based Comparative Risk Assessment."
