STEVEN B. EPSTEIN
Steven Epstein, founder and Senior Partner of the Washington, D.C. law firm of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., is a pioneer in the legal specialty known as health care law. He played a key role in establishing the concept that health care organizations require a dedicated form of legal representation. He was also instrumental in the acceptance of managed care as the most prominent form of health care delivery. His firm, one of the largest and most respected national health care law firms in the country, serves a broad base of clients including insurers, hospitals, managed care organizations, pharmaceutical companies, ancillary providers, venture capital concerns and investment banking companies.
Mr. Epstein currently serves as Chairman of the Columbia Law School Board of Visitors. He is also a Director of several health care organizations including the Health Extras, APS Healthcare, Destiny Health, Discovery Health, Emergency Medical Services Corp., InstantDX, and Monument Bank. He serves on the Board of Advisors of Radius Ventures, Dauphin Ventures, KBL Healthcare Ventures and MTS Ventures. Prior to founding Epstein Becker and Green in 1973, Mr. Epstein practiced law in New York City and served as legal consultant to the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.
Mr. Epstein earned a B.A. from Tufts University in 1965 and an L.L.B. from Columbia Law School in 1968. He was elected to the Tufts University Board of Trustees in 1999.
