FARES I. FARES

Fares I. Fares is Chairman of the Board of Wedge Alternatives Ltd, a London-based firm specializing in alternative investments. He also serves as Chairman of Wedge Real Estate Holdings and board member of Wedge Group, a Houston-based company that oversees a diversified portfolio of investments for the Fares family, providing products and services throughout the world in a variety of sectors including hospitality, energy services, process engineering, banking, and real estate.

In 1995 Fares joined the senior management at Wedge Group to manage his family’s U.S. assets. He was involved in numerous business ventures including acquisitions, dispositions, and development of international business. During his time at Wedge Group, the firm’s return on investment outpaced that of most private equity funds.

Prior to joining Wedge Group, Fares worked in the Corporate Finance Department at Oppenheimer & Company in New York City, focusing on public offerings and restructurings.

Fares is a board member of the World Affairs Council of America and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He serves on the boards of numerous private companies and non-profit organizations.

Fares received a B.A. in History from Tufts University in 1992. He was elected to the Tufts University Board of Trustees in 2002.
