Andrew Safran is Vice Chairman of Citi's Global Investment Bank and member of the operating committee. He has primary responsibility for Citi's Global Energy, Power and Chemical groups within the investment bank. During his 20+ years on Wall Street, Mr. Safran has been involved in a number of landmark transactions including the pending $45 billion LBO of TXU and Koch Industries recent acquisition of Georgia Pacific.

Mr. Safran is widely credited with being one of the developers of the Master Limited Partnership market place, which has grown to over $100 billion. He has been involved in over 50 transactions with MLPs including over 30 IPOs.

Mr. Safran is a Trustee of Tufts University, a member of the Board of Overseers of the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and a board member of the Institute for Global Leadership. He also is a member of the Board of Managers of the New York Botanical Garden, and has served on the Board of Directors of Outward Bound USA.

Mr. Safran graduated from Tufts University in 1976 and received his M.A. in 1977 from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Upon graduation from Fletcher, Mr. Safran was an intern in the Bureau of African Affairs in the State Department stationed in Bujumbura Burundi. He was elected to the Tufts University Board of Trustees in 2006 and is a member of the Administration and Finance Committee and the Investment Committee.
