THOMAS F. WINKLER III
Tom Winkler is an endodontist in a private group practice called Limited to Endodontics. With sixteen endodontists and six locations in Boston, Wellesley, Lexington, Medford, and Franklin, it is one of the largest and most successful group practices in Massachusetts. He joined the practice in 1970.
Prior to joining Limited to Endodontics, Dr. Winkler served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps for two years. He was a lecturer in Endodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, dentist at Harvard University Health Services, and consultant to the Veterans Administration. He joined the faculty of the Tufts Dental School in 1974 as Clinical Instructor in Endodontics and now holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Endodontics.
Dr. Winkler is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Society. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontics, the American Academy of Dental Science, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Massachusetts Academy of Endodontists. A Director of the Eastern Dentists Insurance Company, he serves on the Journal of Endodontics editorial board and volunteers for the Yankee Dental Congress.
Dr. Winkler earned a B.S. from Tufts University in 1962, a D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1966 and an M.S.D. from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1970. He was elected to the Tufts Board of Trustees in 2000 and currently serves as chair of the Board of Overseers for the School of Dental Medicine. He is also a member of the Academic Affairs Committee, the Committee on Trusteeship, and the Board of Overseers for the School of Arts and Sciences.
