Degree Programs

Each year about 80 students begin their studies in the four-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program. In 2004, the school ranked first among the 32 North American veterinary schools in the combined GRE scores of its entering class. In recent years, we have consistently been among the top three schools in graduates' success in competitive matching program for internships and residencies. The Tufts Center for Conservation Medicine places the Cummings School in the forefront of the emerging study of human, animal and environmental health in ecosystems—locally and globally. The school's Center for Animals and Public Policy enhances the study of the role of all animals in our society. New initiatives, including a shelter medicine program, help integrate multiple elements of our medical, surgical and ethics curricula.
