Choosing the Cummings School

I chose the Cummings School because I loved my undergraduate experience at Tufts, Tufts has great animal hospitals, and I love New England.

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Tufts University, Medford, MA (2009)

Career Goals

Right now I would like to work in small animal surgery and maybe eventually open up my own practice. But that may change after four years of school. My only exposure to veterinary medicine has been in the small animal field, but we'll see where my education takes me.

Looking Forward to First Year

What excites me most is meeting new people, starting new classes, and just the fact that the first year of vet school is essentially the beginning of a career that I have always wanted to pursue. I am most nervous about the exams and course load, and adjusting to a new level of education.

Are You Ready?

Yes. As intimidating as the start of classes is, it is also really exciting to be starting vet school.

Telling Everyone

It took me a while to tell everyone, actually. I told my family and close friends right away, but otherwise I didn't bring it up unless people asked me what I planned to do with my Chemistry degree.
