Sarah Bronko Student Profile
Choosing the Cummings School
I grew up attending the community open houses at Tufts and the Adventures in Veterinary Medicine program (twice!). Years later when it came time to apply to veterinary school, I not only had wonderful memories of Tufts, but I immediately recognized how much Tufts was able to distinguish itself from other schools. The signature opportunities, the innovative curriculum, the small and supportive community—I just had a gut feeling that Tufts was the perfect fit for me.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Biology, Georgetown University, Washington, DC (2007)
Career Goals
I hope to join the international veterinary medicine program while at Tufts and prepare to work in the field of veterinary public health. However, I am going to keep an open mind while in the DVM program; in a few years, I could be doing anything!
Looking Forward to First Year
I'm thrilled to get to know my classmates, gain hands-on experience with species I've never worked with before, and study harder than I've ever studied before (I'm a glutton for punishment). Because I have been out of school for a couple years, I am apprehensive about becoming a full-time student once again. I know that I will need to put serious effort into time management to ensure that I succeed in my classes, and that I find a healthy balance between work and down time.
Are You Ready?
I am so excited for the start of classes! Am I mentally ready? Definitely. Do I fully understand what I'm getting myself into? Probably not! I'm trying to keep a positive attitude and have peeked at the anatomy study guide a few times...
Telling Everyone
Within minutes, all of my close friends and family had received my hysterical phone calls. Within hours, they took it upon themselves to inform everyone else I've ever met. I am astounded and touched by the outpouring of support I've received, and I hope to make everyone proud.
