Alumni Association

The Tufts University Veterinary Alumni Association (TUVAA ) began in 1986. The organization meets on a quarterly basis and in addition to those meetings, holds the official Annual Meeting at the annual Alumni Reunion and Comeback event in September. The meetings are open to all alumni, students and staff of Tufts University. Currently, there is one or more Class Representatives for each class and three official Student Members. There are 43 Alumni Class Representatives in total. The organization meets to develop, plan and support alumni and student events throughout the year; examples of which include the Alumni Reunion and Comeback, speaker series, Senior Banquet, yearbooks, alumni receptions as well as incoming and outgoing student gifts. The TUVAA also presents the annual Outstanding Alumnus Award and Faculty Hall of Fame inductions.

These activities and programs are financially supported by annual dues membership payments. All alumni (dues paying or not) are considered members of TUVAA , although about 20% of alumni contribute a $25 annual membership. The yearly dues mailing also serves as an alumni survey gathering information on alumni practice types and soliciting volunteers for event hosts, campus speakers, reunion chair and committee members, and student mentorship.
