Making a GiftGifts from alumni who share Tufts Veterinary School's commitment to the improvement of animal health and well-being and to the education of generations of skilled and compassionate veterinarians have been, and will always be, critical to the school's success. Your support truly makes a difference. There are many ways to give to Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University . The Veterinarians CARE Program Tufts' Companion Animals Remembered (CARE) program offers veterinarians the opportunity to demonstrate sympathy for clients who have lost beloved pets. Through monetary gifts, veterinarians can show their compassion while contributing to Tufts Veterinary School. Upon receiving a memorial gift, Tufts sends a letter to the pet owner informing him or her of the veterinarian's generous gesture. The owner is encouraged to find comfort in a gift that will help other treasured companion animals. An article in the July 2003 issue of DVM Magazine quoted one client who was informed of a gift through the CARE program, "I was rather bowled over about the Tufts donation," said the client who then acknowledged her veterinarian's thoughtfulness with a plant for his office. The Veterinarians CARE Program, which was established in 1987, is currently supported by over 30 veterinary hospitals and clinics in New England, New Jersey, New York and California.
