For access to genetic markers developed by Tufts laboratory, hundreds of genetic markers are available to shrimp producers to help with pedigree tracing, maintenance of accurate breeding records, and to reduce labor costs associated with tagging in both hatcheries and grow-out ponds or raceways. By using our markers there will no longer be a need to tag individual shrimp from each family using fluorescent tags. We can custom make (multiplex) marker sets for individual producers. For additional information to access Tufts genetic markers (ShrimpTest12 or others), please contact Joseph McManus, member of the Executive Committee of the USMSFP.

For access to DNA from reference and resource mapping families, please contact Dr. Warren for additional information. (acacia.warren@tufts.edu)
