Middle School Program Adventures in Veterinary Medicine
The AVM Middle School program is for students who are in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade at the time of application.

If you can answer "Yes!" to any of these questions, then you should sign up for Adventures in Veterinary Medicine this summer!
Adventures in Veterinary Medicine is an exciting and fun way to spend a week learning about being a vet. You'll visit our large and small animal hospitals and wildlife clinic. You'll learn about keeping pets healthy. And you'll take part in lively discussions about some of the most important animal-related issues that face veterinarians today, like ethics, emerging diseases, conservation, and more.
Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity: your chance to discover what it's like to be a veterinarian... and what it takes to become one.
If you come to AVM this summer, you'll get:
- Classes taught by Tufts faculty on topics such as:
- small and large animal medicine
- zoonoses
- ethics
- emergency medicine
- large animal handling
- Hands-on animal experience
- Laboratories and activities
- Animal related field trips
- Demonstrations of clinical procedures with live animals
- The chance to work on a group project with other students
Middle School applications are accepted on first-come,
first served basis, and this program is very popular. The limited
spaces fill up quickly. Share this information with your family,
and return your registration as soon as possible after November
1st.
Program materials, laboratory fees, transportation to the field trips, and daily lunch are included. Housing is not provided, but if you decide to stay locally, we can give you the names of some great places to stay.
