Department of Biomedical Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Biomedical Sciences,
Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. The Department of
Biomedical Sciences faculty
are involved in teaching, research, and clinical service. The department
faculty direct many core courses in the veterinary and medical school
curricula. These courses
as well as our department
seminar series are listed in the following pages. A number of
our faculty are involved in research activities which are, in most
part, supported by extramural funds from federal and state agencies
and biotechnology companies. Research areas of the department are
infectious diseases, reproductive biology and biotechnology, hepatic
diseases, and pathophysiology of aging. Faculty members in the section
of pathology provide timely and quality diagnostic services to our
clinicians and clients in the hospitals in addition to their teaching
and research responsibilities.
