Faculty members in the section of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology are involved in basic science teaching and research.
Dr. Engelking directs two courses for veterinary students: Physiological
Chemistry and Veterinary Physiology. Dr. Kumar directs Gross Anatomy
I and II, and Dr. Anwer directs the Basic Pharmacology course for
veterinary students.
In addition, these faculty members are involved in advising students on various research projects. Research activities of the section include: regulation of pituitary functions by nitrous oxide, lead, and catecholamines, and molecular mechanisms regulating hepatic transport processes and hepatocyte apoptosis.
