Campus Center (committed)
The Campus Center is a place where the entire Cummings community
can come together and engage in a variety of academic, extra-curricular
and social activities. It promises to be a signature building on
campus and representative of the Cummings School's vibrant academic
environment.
Campus Center Interior Spaces
Ground Floor
The lower level, which is ground level on the rear of the building,
will include a 1000 sq. ft. exercise room, student storage, cafeteria
support facilities, restrooms and mechanical space for the building's
electrical and heating and cooling systems.
Exercise Room $500,000
The exercise room will help enable students to maintain a healthy
and fit lifestyle within their demanding schedules. More than $30,000
has been raised to purchase modern equipment for the exercise room,
which will also include showers and locker facilities.
Main Floor
The main floor, located on the first floor of the building, will
be devoted to the cafeteria.
Seating will be flexible so that the dining area can be used for
a variety of functions.

Second Floor
The second floor of the building will be devoted to student activity.
Two 1000 sq. ft. lounges
will allow for quiet study and for social activity. The second floor
will also include a large
office for student organizations and the student bookstore.
Social Lounge $500,000
This space will provide a gathering place where students can relax,
interact casually with each other, faculty and staff and enjoy recreational
activities such as ping pong, pool and air hockey. It will provide
a gathering place for evening social activities such as popular
“Open Mic” nights.
Recreation & Games $1,000 to $10,000
(such as pool table, air hockey, television)
Study Lounge (committed)
This area will be a designated quiet area to provide a setting for
students that is both
comfortable and conducive to studying on campus. Located adjacent
to the social lounge,
essential “study breaks” and opportunities for social
interaction will be lose at hand.
Student Organizations Office $250,000
There are dozens of student academic, community service and social
organizations at
Cummings. This large office will provide important space for students
to maintain important records and to run their organizations efficiently
from year to year. It will encourage clubs
to share ideas, as well as resources such as computers and phones.
Student Store $150,000
Third Floor
The building’s third floor will feature 13 faculty offices
and a conference room. Having faculty offices in the campus center
will encourage faculty-student interaction outside of the classroom,
fostering increased casual interaction and mentoring by faculty.
In addition, faculty office space is in short supply on campus and
this floor will help address a critical need.

Auditorium $2.5 million
The Auditorium will be an inviting academic hub for students and
the entire community. Designed to complement the Campus Center,
it will create a striking new addition to the Grafton campus. The
space will provide 81 conference style seats and 92 traditional
auditorium seats. With state-of-the-art acoustics, lighting and
AV electronics, the auditorium will be utilized for evening forums
and other community gatherings.
