Education
PhD - University of Cambridge, England - 1996
MVSc - Haryana Agricultural University, India - 1991
BVSc & AH - Haryana Agricultural University, India - 1989
General Research Interest
Microbial pathogenesis, immune response against microbial pathogens, immunotherapy, vaccine development, and equine immunology.
The focus of research is on bacterial and protozoan pathogens of zoonotic importance that induce enteric disease. We are investigating the nature of host-parasite interaction of Cryptosporidium spp. with respect to disease manifestation, pathogenesis, and immunity. We are also investigating the pathogenesis of disease caused by Shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC), and developing immunotherapy for prevention of hemolytic-uremic syndrome, a complication of STEC infection and a leading cause of acute renal failure in young children.
