Hospital for Large Animals Referring Veterinarians
On behalf of the Hospital for Large Animals and everyone at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, I want to thank you for your continued support. Referrals are absolutely critical to our teaching, research and service missions and help us provide state of the art diagnostics and treatment services for animals throughout New England.
The Hospital for Large Animals has grown to be one of the largest referral hospitals in the Northeast, yet we strive to provide the same level of personalized, compassionate care that clients have come to expect. Behind the scenes, your patients receive the advantage of carefully orchestrated, team-based care. We have renowned faculty specialists, dedicated residents and interns, along with highly skilled veterinary technicians and staff. Our students are energized to provide high-quality care with compassion for patients and clients. Everyone here wants to provide you, the referring veterinarian, with the additional resources you need to manage cases.
We have experts to help with ultrasound examinations. We recently added high-strength MRI capabilities for horses and other large animals. We are installing a new 16-slice CT scanner in July that also will serve your patients. We have a state-of-the-art nuclear scintigraphy suite. You have ready access to the region's most powerful diagnostic imaging capabilities.
In addition, we are opening a new isolation ward in September to care for patients with infectious diseases that will help us better protect our clients’ animals as we treat them.
If you need to refer a case to us, please call (508) 839-7926 and we will help set up the care for your patient.
We value your referrals and your support. We are working hard to continually improve our services, our communications, and our referring veterinarian satisfaction. Thank you for all you do for your patients and the profession!
