Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health Work In Progress Seminars
The Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health (IDGH) Work-in-Progress (WIP) Seminars are held at noon on the third Wednesday of each month from September through May in the Building 20 conference room. The format for each seminar is that two scientists each have 30 minutes to present research underway in their lab. The research presented is often preliminary and unpublished. Most presentations are by faculty, staff scientists, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students within IDGH, although presenters from outside of IDGH occasionally participate. The primary purpose of the WIP seminars is to familiarize scientists on campus with IDGH research and to offer a forum for presenting scientists to obtain constructive advice on their research from other scientists on campus. IDGH provides pizza for attendees. The IDGH WIP seminar series is organized by Dr. Chuck Shoemaker.
