Building your International Veterinary Medicine Skills

Objective - To provide educational and field experiences for students who intend to pursue a career in International Veterinary Medicine.

The IVM Post Graduate Certificate (PGCert) Program is designed for students intending to pursue a career in International Veterinary Medicine. This is a comprehensive, mentor centered program which augments the DVM curriculum and is completed in parallel with the DVM program. All PGCert candidates must be in good academic standing in the DVM program. Requirements for the PGCert include cross-cultural seminars, elective courses in IVM, attending conferences and training opportunities, an international project, a peer-reviewed publication, completion of the Advanced IVM Short Course and leading an open forum in the final year of the program. Students in the Post Graduate Certificate program can choose one of six areas of specialization: Conservation Medicine, Public Health, Livestock Production and Development, Diseases of International Importance, Livestock in Humanitarian Assistance, or the Socioeconomic Aspects of Animal Health and Production.
